The Ministry for Capital Investments of the Republic of Serbia, with the support of UN-HABITAT and the Government of Italy, is organizing a National Housing Conference in Belgrade on July 6th and 7th at the Sava Center.
Representatives of all municipalities, relevant ministries, international organizations, Universities, experts and practitioners will be present and participate in the plenary sessions and following discussions to give impetus for the formulation of the national housing policy of Serbia.
Apart from the technical and organizational support, UN-HABITAT SIRP is contributing to the conference with four concept papers and relative recommendations on four strategic themes that arose from the formulation of Municipal Housing Strategies in selected Serbian municipalities:
- Affordable rental housing
- Condominium management and maintenance
- Regularization and upgrading of informal settlements
- Inclusion of Roma population through improvement of settlements and housing
The publication of the four concept papers will be distributed at the conference and available for download.
