The process of formulation of the City Development Strategy has started in January 2007, with the establishment of the Development Council, headed by the Mayor and formed by representatives of the City Assembly, the 5 Municipalities of Nis and local NGOs.
The planning process sees the involvement and participation of a wide group of stakeholders, including public companies, SMEs and banks, trade unions and professional associations, minority associations, NGOs, cultural and sports clubs, community groups and associations, individuals, intellectuals, and religious leaders.
Defining a shared vision of the future development of the City is the main step of the planning process to which the entire community is called to participate.
