The official ceremony for the opening of the building site for the construction of social housing units was held in Nis on the 9th of August, in the presence of H.E. Velimir Ilic, Minister for Capital Investments, the Mayor of the City of Nis, representatives of the Nis City Housing Agency, established within the framework of SIRP Programme, and Ms. Ligia Ramirez, Head of UN-HABITAT in Serbia.
The site, located in Pasi Poljana – Block 8, will be interested by the construction of the first 45 social housing units of a total of 75, for which the Italian Government is contributing with about 1.2 M euro, with the contribution of the City of Niš in land and infrastructures, projects and permits, equivalent to approximately 30% of total costs.
The City Housing Agency of Niš is strongly engaged in other activities within the SIRP Programme. The main result achieved during the last several months is the development of the draft Housing Profile as a part of the ongoing process of the formulation of the City Housing Strategy. |
