After several preparatory meetings, on March 17th SIRP organized a major event in Valjevo Municipality - the Launching Meeting of the Planning Process for Integrated Local Development Strategies in Valjevo Municipality. The participants to the meeting were the members of the three municipal Working Groups – Local Development, Municipal Housing Strategy and Territorial Information System, as well as the municipality top officials, including the Mayor, the Vice-Mayor and the Heads of Departments. The Head of UN-HABITAT Office in Belgrade and SIRP's Chief Technical Adviser Mrs. Ligia Ramirez presented the Concept paper on Integrated Development Planning in SIRP Municipalities and introduced to the participants key steps of the process. During the meeting, the participants were informed about the series of basic trainings/workshops to be organized within the Programme. The first workshop in the series, entitled “Communication, Conflict Management and Negotiation”, was held on May 5th, which was followed by the training on “Participatory Planning and Group Decision Making” held on May 17th.
